Durham Lactation, LLC is a lactation consultant service. Serving families in Durham, Chapel Hill, Carrboro, Hillsborough, Raleigh, Apex, Cary, Wake Forest, Garner, Graham, Burlington, and beyond. I offer highly skilled, non-judgmental  lactation and postpartum care centered around your goals. Working together, we can find solutions to nipple pain, mastitis, plugged ducts, oversupply, low production, slow weight gain and any other lactation concerns you might be dealing with.

 

I offer personalized breastfeeding education/breastfeeding classes/pumping classes/bottle-feeding support/breastfeeding support/help breastfeeding multiples/home visits/prenatal consultations to help you make a breastfeeding plan and so much more. 

 

In addition to lactation and postpartum care I am part of a network building LGBTQ resources for families in the south. Including parenting classes/parenting groups/gender affirming lactation care/trans chestfeeding and breastfeeding support.

Working together, we'll assess and identify challenges, provide solutions, and create a comprehensive care plan from the comfort of your own home.

Bottle Feeding Support

Bottle feeding is it's own art with its own challenges. Learn paced bottle feeding, WHO formula preparation, safe milk handling practices and more.

LGBTQ Family Support

LGBTQ families have unique needs and experiences. Victoria Facelli is the local expert in inducing lactation for for adoption or a non-gestational parent as well as trans and genderqueer lactation and cessation of milk production. 

Durham Lactation also offers family planning consults to help you navigate your family building goals and the reproduction world.  

Phone Consults

Have lactation questions but no time to come in for a visit? Not located in North Carolina? Get professional help from the comfort of your sofa or carpool line. A phone appointment or Skype visit can be be arranged from anywhere in the world. These calls can range from 5-45 minutes - get all of your personal questions answered and receive an emailed plan and summery of the call.

Prenatal Lactation Visit

Planning to breastfeed? Get your best start by making a plan that meets your specific needs and rule out any risk factors you may have. During this initial visit, we will discuss your unique circumstances, concerns, breastfeeding goals and challenges. This visit includes a physical assessment and medical history review. Following this, we'll work together to make a personalized breastfeeding plan to get you off to your best start with your new baby.
